Health:

– We recommend taking the yellow fever vaccine up to 10 days before the date of travel. If you have not had the yellow fever vaccine before coming to Brazil, you can go to a health centre in your host city and get the vaccine free of charge. The vaccine is valid for life, so if you are interested in this trip, you can get the vaccine in advance. There’s no need to bring your vaccination card.

– There is no vaccine against malaria. You can consult your trusted doctor regarding prophylactics.

– Vaccines against dengue and Covid19 are not mandatory.

Documentation:

– According to Federal Police law, the students must have:

• Original Passport OR Federal Police Identification Card (RNM).

– We advise the student to take a copy (front and back) of their documents and credit card and keep them with their host family.

– Whether it’s the Passport OR the RNM, having an original identification document is MANDATORY – without this documentation, the exchange student will not be able to travel.

– Students under the age of 16, residing and travelling in Brazil, and who will travel unaccompanied by a legal guardian or parent, will require a special notarized authorization signed by their host family and certified by a public notary’s office in Brazil to do so, as well as meeting the requirements of each airline/busline company. You must require this special authorization from your nearest public notary.

Pocket money:
– Approximately R$250,00 (estimated value) for normal travel expenses such as extra food and optional tours during the trip. If interested in shopping, bring more cash.

Backpack and squeeze: 

– We would like to remind you that if you have already received your reusable backpack and water bottle on a trip of the Belo Brasil, you should bring them with you on your next trip.

Remember: our backpacks and water bottles are reusable. You will receive a backpack and a water bottle only if this is your first trip with us.

Where can I wash my clothes?

– You can wash your clothes (once) in our washing machine inside the boat.
